What this video teaches
A mistake-focused tutorial that diagnoses each failure mode individually: front foot too far over the board, back foot over-scooping, under-flip, over-flip, body lean, and commitment issues. Great for skaters who are close but can not land consistently.
Key tips
1Front foot should sit at or behind the halfway point of the board lengthwise so your toe can flick as the board rotates over to that side
2Back foot stays just barely in the pocket, toes not hanging far over; focus on a straight pop down rather than a heavy scoop
3Flick in the direction your toes are naturally pointing, which is slightly forward of where the nose is, not straight outward like a kickflip
4Over-rotation fix: move the front foot slightly closer to center or reduce how far the toes hang in the back pocket
5Under-flip fix: move the front foot slightly further back or toward the heel edge to catch the board at a better angle during rotation
6Tuck your knees up and stay patient in the air; rushing your feet down causes under-flip because you stop the board before it finishes
7Practice landing front foot only first, then add bending your back knee in the air before committing to both feet
8If the board is flying in front of you, lean over your toes more and flick with ankle bend rather than extending your whole leg outward
