What we collect to run Onbolts, and what we deliberately don't do with it.

Last updated: 2026-07-10

What we collect

To create an account, we store your email and password through Supabase Auth, our authentication provider. Your password is never stored in plain text.

As you use Onbolts, we store the activity you generate: which tricks you're learning and your progress on each one, your trick wishlist, your logged practice sessions, and any tutorial videos you favorite.

If you submit a trick suggestion through the "Suggest a trick" page, we store what you submit so we can review it for the catalog.

If you choose to make your skater profile public, we also store a handle, display name, location, and avatar image for that profile.

Your public profile

Every account gets a skater profile with a handle. By default it's public and appears on the Skaters leaderboard with your XP, level, badges, and trick counts. You can switch it to private any time from your Profile page, which removes it from the leaderboard and its public page.

Your email is never shown on a public profile. Your raw trick-by-trick progress stays private even when your profile is public; only summary stats (XP, counts, badges) are shown.

What we use it for

We use your activity to run the features you're using: tracking progress, recommending what to learn next, showing your history over time, and powering the public leaderboard for skaters who opt in.

We don't use your data to train anything, and we don't sell it.

What we don't do

Onbolts runs no third-party analytics and no ad trackers. There's no pixel watching what you click, and nobody is served ads based on your activity here.

Where your data lives

Onbolts is built on Supabase, a hosted database and authentication platform. Your data is stored there and transmitted over encrypted connections. We keep your session signed in using your browser's local storage, so you don't have to log in every visit.

Your choices

You can update or clear your progress, wishlist, favorites, and public profile details any time from your Profile page. Changing your profile to private stops anyone else from seeing it.

Changes to this policy

Onbolts is a small, actively built project. If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
