Detail-oriented tutorial covering weight distribution and body lean adjustments that most guides skip. Highlights that the front foot does more of the scooping and flicking work than in a standard kickflip, and that back foot placement shifted off the tail edge is the single most important setup key.
Key tips
Shift your back foot slightly off the heel edge of the tail rather than centering it, this loads the scoop and helps the board go vertical
Rise up onto the ball of your back foot before popping to concentrate maximum weight on the edge of the tail
Place your front foot further back on the board than you would for a kickflip, same angle but more central
Put more weight on your front foot than most tricks require, loaded on the ball of the toe before the pop
Lean your body centered: leaning too far forward makes the board go too vertical, leaning back flattens the rotation
Face your body slightly more forward than usual for other tricks because of how the feet are angled
Flick your front foot out and up with a strong power flick to clear the board and give it room to rotate
The front foot does most of the scooping and flicking work, the back foot mainly helps launch the board vertical
