HOW TO HARDFLIP THE EASIEST WAY TUTORIAL 2.0 by Braille Skateboarding is a skateboarding tutorial for the Hardflip. Braille 2.
What this video teaches
Braille 2.0 (Aaron Cairo) drills the prerequisite kickflip and frontside shove-it in detail, stressing that the frontside shove-it must pop forward (board stays under you, not behind) and the kickflip flick must be fast, before the two motions are fused. The combination is described as back foot popping down and forward while the front foot sweeps directly sideways, and the step-off catch drill is again presented as the essential bridge to the full jump.
Key tips
1Master a frontside shove-it where the board stays forward under you, not behind: ball of foot on the tip of the tail, pop straight down then push forward
2Develop a very fast kickflip flick, sliding up and snapping the toe quickly, before attempting to combine it
3Front foot goes almost straight (perpendicular) on the board for the hardflip, more upright than the kickflip position
4Back foot pops down and scoops forward, front foot sweeps directly out to the side while the toe flicks to start the flip
5Step-off drill: back foot on the ground, pop and flick with the front, catch the board frontward with the front foot, repeat until ingrained
6The catch comes on the front foot and then the back foot is set down, not the other way around
7Bending the back knee is the mechanical key to getting the back foot airborne without feeling like you need to jump high
8Boards that spin and land primo need a front-foot flick adjustment, either harder or with a slightly different angle
