What this video teaches
Skate Warehouse coach Jarvis shares his personal insight that the heelflip component does most of the rotation work, not the back-foot scoop. He rides the board backwards for this trick and cues the front foot to flick the heel flip all the way around while the back foot gives only a minimal shove.
Key tips
1Back foot angled on the tail end, positioned to get a good shove-it without over-rotating past 180
2Front foot a couple of inches behind the front bolts with toes hanging off slightly toward the heel side
3The heel flip does the majority of the rotation work, the back-foot scoop is intentionally light
4Keep the back-foot scoop minimal, over-scooping causes the board to spin past 180 into a 270
5Front foot flicks out in front and slightly down to drive both the flip and the remaining rotation
6Aim to catch the board with the back foot as it comes around and set it down with bent knees
7Think of the trick as a heel flip that also scoops rather than a shove-it that also flips
8Riding the board backwards (your setup stance) may make the motion feel more natural for some skaters
